I have been at UMass since 1978 (previously at the University of Rochester). I am primarily interested in the process of skilled reading and use eye movement data to make inferences about perceptual and cognitive processes. I am also interested in various issues in psycholinguistics (resolution of ambiguity, discourse processing) and in scene perception and visual search.
