Each OIT Account comes with UMail service, the UMass Amherst campus email system. UMail uses IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) to store your email on a central server.

Email Software

Managing Your UMail
UMail Post Office
The UMail Post Office allows you to manage your UMail account, regardless of how you access it. Set email forwarding. Check your quota. Create "vacation" messages. Activate spam filtering.
Clean Up Your UMail Account
If your UMail account reaches the storage limit (150 MB for faculty and staff and 30 MB for students), you will not be able to receive any messages. Here are some guidelines to free up space on your account.
