The Songs:

Brief History

The members of 'The Unknown' loved music. CJ had been playing the drums for years, and God and his sister, Nancy, had begun recording little songs and raps since their time in junior high, when God got his first guitar and drum machine and Nancy her first keyboard. God and Iran were best friends, and Iran took up the bass and began to write songs with God and Nancy. When God, Nancy and Iran got to high school, they joined the marching band and hooked up with CJ. The first incarnation of this band was called 'Menagerie'. Nancy left the band, but continued to work with them. In 1988, "The Unknown Demo" was recorded while ditching school on two consecutive Fridays (not to fear: two of the three members went on to Ph.D. programs in Philosophy and Physics, and the other is taking college courses and pursuing a career in music). The songs on this demo are: The Forgotten Words (lyrics: God), Psychic Whispers (lyrics: God, Iran), Exclusively (lyrics: God), Chasing (lyrics: God), Allucquere (lyrics: God). Other songs, not studio recorded are: K.I.L.L (Kind Images of Life and Love) (lyrics: Iran), Deadlights (lyrics: God), Invade (no good lyrics), Course (lyrics: God), Morning on a Staircase (lyrics: God), When Alone (lyrics: God), Zimbabwe (lyrics: change without notice). Some of these are recorded (poor quality in all senses) on a live tape of a party at Bianca's house. Hi Bianca! We performed some covers live, in some cases with supporting musicianship of Mark "Horndog" Hornaday, Joe Wright and Brad Rowe. These covers include: Light My Fire (Doors), No New Tales To Tell (Love and Rockets), and Boys Don't Cry (the Cure).
