Maxims for Classroom Management
Ask three, then me.
Keep your back to the wall.
Be friendly but not their friend.
Teach harder than you test.
Set rules and stick to them.
Show the same respect you expect.
Know everyone's names.
Treat everyone equally and fairly.
Be consistent to the class and to the student.
If you won't carry it out, don't threaten it.
Nip it in the bud.
Be prepared.
You can never be over-prepared.
You can't talk louder than the whole class.
Get to know your students' learning styles.
Remember that your students have knowledge.
Don't react, respond.
Always have a plan B.
