Alpha Phi Omega was founded by Frank Reed Horton on December 16, 1925. The location of this first APO was Lafayette College, in Easton, PA. APO originally had 14 founding brothers. Women were nationally admitted into APO in 1976. Prior to this, there was a sister sorority of APO, called Gamma Sigma Sigma.
Kappa Omicron Chapter History
Kappa Omicron was founded at the University of Massachusetts on May 18, 1952. The first president of KO was William Whitmore. K.O. became co-ed in 1986, and the first female president was Kathryn S. Turner. UMass has had three names: Massachusetts Agricultural College, Massachusetts State College, and University of Massachsetts - Amherst. Our current advisors are Frank Evans and Judy Gagnon.
