Alpha Phi Omega Meeting 04/13/08
Attendance: Yukeshan, Jacob, Brendan, Jillian, Molly, Erin B., Sam Perry,

SVP:

Wed April 16 - Frank’s Troop – Every Wednesday 700-830pm
St. Johns Episcopal Church, Rt. 9 in Northampton
Shawn will be in the office at 630 to give rides.

Fri-Sat April 18-19 – Relay for Life
Shirts will be tie-died. Bake sale in front on tent. German Cookies? Pretzels?
The canning sign up sheet is in the office. Tricia can pick up chairs and tents
on Friday, contact her if you have anything. Direction will go out soon. Molly
will be in the Blue wall at 7 on Wednesday to make poster boards and other cool
German things.

Sun April 20 - Prison Book Project Every Sunday 1-4
We put together packages for Prisoners in Texas and New England with books that
have been donated.

Mon April 21 – Boston Marathon
We are at water station 5 (Framingham). We will be staying at Steve and
Yukeshan's house in Acton, Ma.
**Any alumni, if you need a place to stay, please let Heather
(aurorasflipflops@yahoo.com) know, we have plenty of space for you. Directions
will be sent out closer to the date.

Thurs Apr 24 – WGBY Wine and Dine Auction 9pm - 1130pm
Need to answer phones, run bids and record on whiteboard. (The auction will
also be happening on 4.23.08 and 4.25.08.. If you'd like to attend one, contact
Shawn, sbrobbin@student.umass.edu)

Fri April 25 – 20 Service hours are due

Sat April 26 – Pi Kappa Phi 5-K – Push America

Tues April 29 – UMASS founders day. 145th Anniversary. 2 types of functions.
Ushers (9-11am) and Hosts (8am-2pm).

Thurs May 1 –Locks for Love Hair Drive
Flyers are in Jill's mailbox--flyer!! (you get service hours!)
Tell everyone to grow their hair!

May 8, May 14 – Operation Military Kid Training
301 Slobody building. An effort to help children whose parents are in the
military stay connected with their parent(s) overseas. The three training
sessions are for a variety of software and hardware, video imaging and many
other different publishing software. This training would be used at family days
and other events.
The training days are:

5.8.08--1:00pm-4:00pm
5.4.08--9:00am-12:00pm
Only one training session is needed.

May 12-16 – Fill a bus
Our duties involve manning the bus at all times. We will collect and sort
donations of clothing, non-perishable food, and other similar things to give
Amherst survival shelter. We have gotten a lot of donations from the 5-K, so we
are off to a good start!

May 16 – Possible Security event.
Clarion Hotel, Northampton.

Thank you to everyone who came to the 5-K. We had 32 runners and raised $320,
and received 2 large boxes of clothing.

MVP:

April 20 - Membership Summit at University of Hartford.
Learn about membership retention, MVP, recruiting new members, etc.
Free Pizza lunch!
10:30am-4:00pm

Pledge Liaison – They took the nationals quiz and voted on the brotherhood
awards. Their books are due on Friday Apr 25th.

FVP:
Tues April 15 – Tie-dying @ 98 Sand Hill Road. Shawn, Alana and Ryan’s house.
7pm. At the office at 645 is you need a ride.

Thurs April 17th – Office Party. Opportunity to get office hrs, fellowship
points and interviews.

April 25 – Non-official fellowship
Harold and Kumar midnight showing

Capture the flag date changed to Cabin.
Teams have a few weeks to plan in 4 items. You are responsible for bringing
these items to cabin.

May 10 – Banquet
Monkey Bar (dress is semi-formal)
Amherst Center, Cocktail hour from 5-6, Dinner at 6.
Meal choices (all served with a salad and Tiramisu)
Penne with a vodka sauce or Grilled Chicken or Iron Steak

Founder’s day will be the afternoon of May 10.

Budget for year 08-09: $1000
$500 for printing and $500 for special events.

National Convention – Dec 27-30, 2008
We have the rate of $104.00 for the Sheraton Boston 12.24.08-1.2-09
Registration for Nationals is $75.00 (start saving for an awesome time!!)

Venturing Photo Contest between March 1 - August 1

Shawn and Daria are running the Boston Marathon!

Abbey had her book stolen and will be reading a poem she wrote at the next
meeting.

Molly will send out an email with German recipes for cooking!

Sam Perry now works at Ben and Jerry’s!

Thurs Apr 24th, 10am-4pm
T-Shirt Swap on the library lawn. Bring a clean t-shirt and they will give you
one for free!
