ROM Rules

To be eligible for ROM awards the owner(s) of the dog must be a member of ASCNE.
For Conformation and Obedience the owner must have worked on a conformation or obedience event during the calendar year ( passed at the 7/99 meeting )
Juniors are exempt from this requirement although they should be encouraged to help out.

The ROM award year runs from Jan 1, to Dec 31. of a calendar year.

Conformation:
The top two dogs in each category will get a ROM ribbon.

High Point Puppy (Bitch/Dog):
Puppies will receive one point for each puppy defeated.
The top two puppies will be awarded a ribbon.

Class (Bitch/Dog):
1 point for each dog defeated.
Winners Dog/Bitch would receive the number of points that is equal to the total number of Dogs/Bitches entered in the regular classes minus 1 (since they did not defeat themselves).
Reserve would receive the number of points that is equivalent to the total number of Dogs/Bitches entered in the regular classes minus 2 (themselves and winners).
In addition, Best of Winners would also receive the number of points equivalent to the number of dogs/bitches, (which ever they aren't) entered in the regular classes.

High Point (Bitch/Dog)
Only dogs/bitches who go Winners are eligible to earn points in this category.
They receive one point for each dog/bitch defeated.
Best of Winners works the same as in the Class Dog/Bitch category.

Champion (Dog/Bitch):
This is only for Dogs/Bitches who have COMPLETED their Championship and have entered the show in the BOB Class.
They receive one point for each dog/bitch defeated.  So if they go Best of Breed they would receive the number of points equivalent to the total number of dogs and bitches entered in regular classes and BOB minus 1 (them self).  Best of Opposite Sex would receive points equivalent to the total number of dogs of the same sex shown in the regular classes and BOB minus 1 (them self).
If Best of winners is the same sex as Best of Opposite Sex then the dog would also receive one point for all dogs of the opposite sex shown in the regular classes at the show.

Junior Showmanship:
Clarification:  These awards are CURRENTLY awarded  only to Juniors who are themselves MEMBERS of ASCNE.!!!!

Sub-Junior:
Every sub-junior who shows in more than 3 shows will receive a ribbon.
NO scores will be kept for sub-junior.

Regular Junior classes:
Juniors will receive one point for every Junior they have defeated.

Obedience ROM scores: For each ASCNE member UP TO the highest 3 scores in each class will be counted toward the ROM award.
These will be divided by 3 (averaged).
The resulting averages will be used to determine the top two exhibitors per class and will be awarded the ROM for the year.
