1. The Los
Angeles Heart Study is a prospective study
of heart disease among Los Angeles employees. Write a descriptive
report (3 pages or less) that compares subjects who survived to 1968
with subjects who died based on the subjects characteristics (age,
weight, and diastolic blood pressure) in 1950. In the process, create
a permanent SAS data set called LA1.SD2 (that is labeled). Include a
copy of your SAS program(s) in an appendix.
2. Cody and
Smith (1997, p45) discuss an example of a study conducted in a
classroom setting where students are measured at two times (pretest
and posttest) and provide some example data.
There is interest in summarizing the mean pretest, postest, and gain
(posttest-pretest) scores for each teacher. Write a brief report that
presents these results, and save the data as a permanent SAS data set
named csp45.sd2. Include a copy of your SAS program(s) in an
appendix.
