Mosrite stringed instruments were originally produced by the late Semie Moseley and are known worldwide for their fine tone and excellent playability. I was fortunate enough to have purchased a new Mosrite guitar in the mid to late 60's before they became the collectable item they are today. The original Mosrite of California company all but disappeared for many years although, for a while, a small number of instruments were still being produced by Semie (largely unbeknownst to the general public) and a couple of Japanese companies began selling copies (primarily unauthorized). Today, legitimate Japanese reissue Mosrite guitars may be purchased and are legally using the Mosrite of California name. A more extensive and detailed history of Mosrite may be found on the "Tym guitars" Web site (see link below).

  • Me & my Mosrite
This is a picture of a Country band I was in sometime around the mid 70's. I am holding a Mosrite, Ventures model, three color sunburst guitar. I bought the guitar new back in the 60's and, as near as I can determine, it's probably of a late 65 or 66 vintage. It has a bolt on neck, front jack, and the truss rod adjustment is on the head.
  • Tym guitars
Tym guitars makes hand crafted custom guitars and effects pedals for well known local, Australian and international bands. They specialize in Mosrite copies, but make originals as well. This site also has a history of Mosrite guitars.
  • Fillmore Co. LTD
Fillmore Company Limited was established in Tokyo, Japan as Fillmore Music Store in 1976. Fillmore has released many Mosrite models for over the years.
  • Ed Roman Guitars
Claims that his Mosrites are 100% authentic. Upon request will give a signed statement that guitar was purchased from Mosrite of California.
