IDAHO: EX-STUDENT ON TRIAL IN TERRORISTS' LINK
The trial of a former University of Idaho graduate student on charges
of aiding terrorist organizations began this week. Federal prosecutors
say the former student, Sami Omar Al-Hussayen, 34, a Saudi citizen,
provided money and technical support for organizations advocating
violence against the United States while a computer science student.
Mr. Al-Hussayen is also charged with visa fraud and making false
statements to immigration officials. Lawyers for both sides gave their
opening statements in a federal court in Boise before government
lawyers began calling witnesses. Matthew Preusch (NYT)
