Application for Research Assistantship in Professor Isbell’s Laboratory
Experiments in Social Cognition
We are searching for interested, responsible, energetic, and motivated students to assist us on several research projects examining some of the following questions:
How do your feelings influence how you process information about others?
How do your feelings influence your impressions of others?
How do feelings influence your ability to complete real-world puzzle tasks?
Do feelings lead us to rely on some types of information more than other types when making judgments?
Students working in our lab will be expected to attend regular meetings to discuss the research projects and the theoretical background that is relevant to them. In addition, students will schedule research participants, collect data, and code and enter data into the computer. We will teach students how to do each of these tasks and will provide guidance, so no prior research experience is required.
This research opportunity will expose students to many phases of the research process and will provide an excellent opportunity for students to gain firsthand knowledge and experience with how research is conducted.
If you are interested, please complete the questions below and return this form to room 630, or return it via email to lisbell@psych.umass.edu.
