Weddings
The Peace Abbey and grounds are available for special occasions
offering a beautiful and inspirational setting. For weddings, both
buildings are open to guests during the day, after school hours,
or weekends and evenings.
We ask for a donation of $2,000 for the rental space to help us
to continue the special projects which embody peace, nonviolence,
and social justice. If the wedding party is small, we will consider
an adjustment in the donation.
Special Services
The Peace Abbey is available for special services which include
Bar or Bat Mitzvahs, Baptisms and the Anointing of Children for
Peace, Funeral Commemorations and other services related to individual
faith traditions. We ask for a donation of $1,000 for the rental
space to help us to continue our work. If the gathering is small,
we will consider an adjustment in the donation.
Personal Retreats
Individual retreats can be arranged for a day or an overnight. Each
individual is encouraged to plan this day of reflection with a staff
person to meet their own needs. Suggested time frame is 9-4:00 P.M.,
which would include spiritual direction in the morning, lunch and
reflection at the end of the day. A donation of $100.00 is suggested.
Overnight retreatants would pay an additional $25.00.
Vegetarian Crash Course
For individuals who have made the decision to take the next step
toward vegetarianism, this self-guided course will profoundly effect
their view on the food they eat and the clothing they wear. This
one day course (9:00-4:00 p.m.) will include selected readings,
viewing animal rights films, feeding and communing with farm animals
that escaped from slaughterhouses, and in depth discussions with
a vegan staff member on issues of health, factory farming, the dairy
industry, animal cruelty, meat production, and the effects of a
meat centered diet on the planet. The day will conclude with a meditation
on peace and nonviolence. Suggested Donation: $100.00 (includes
lunch). Overnight participants would pay an additional $25.00. Offered
on an ongoing basis.
Day Retreats/Meetings
As a place of solitude and peace as well as a place to imagine and
create, The Peace Abbey welcomes people from the wider community
to share a day of retreat. Our donation fee is $500 per day ($800
for two days) for the group. Please discuss any situations which
might require a fee adjustment. We want people to come and experience
the beauty of this spiritual center.
Weekend Retreats
The Peace Abbey offers space to people in the wider community who
may need to provide overnight sleeping arrangements for participants.
If a group needs special consideration, an adjustment will be considered.

Overnight Guests
The Peace Abbey offers overnight accommodations in the tradition
of bed and breakfast lodging. Dormitory beds: $30 per person. Please
scheduled well in advance. Room rates.
Chaplain Services
Interfaith Peace Chaplains are available to help with the planning
and officiating for weddings, blessings, commemoration services
and retreats which take place at the Abbey. Peace Chaplains
are also available to go out to places of worship, schools, and
community events when scheduled in advance. Fees Arranged.
Individual retreats and spiritual guidance is offered when scheduled
in advance. Pastoral counseling for individuals and families can
be arranged during the week. Healing and forgiveness guidance available
as well.
Workshops
Various workshops are offered throughout the year and will be announced
in The Peace Abbey News and the local papers. Donations to be announced.
Colleges & High Schools
The Peace Abbey offers a one day program for students as a regular
part of their curriculum studies. The program hours are 9:30 to
1:30 p.m. The curriculum focuses on peace making, social justice,
and nonviolence. as a way of life. (Students bring their own bag
lunch. Vegetarian please.) Administrators and teachers should contact
the Abbey office to arrange date and itinerary.
Sunday Morning Visits
Visitors from various religions are welcome to schedule a private
morning visit to explore faith, prayer and rituals within the 12
major faiths. Included in the visit is the the rich history of pacifism
in America and throughout the world embodied in the Pacifist Memorial.
Suggested donation for group: $75.00.
Consultant Services
Peace Abbey staff members are available to consult with individuals
and organizations who want to create a Peace Center, a Peace Room
or rituals associated with peace and nonviolence. Chaplains are
willing to travel but need advance notice. Fees arranged.
