Crater Lake

The setting: Crater Lake, which averages about five miles in diameter and is the deepest lake in the United States, is a spectacularly beautiful place. This was taken from a vantage point close to the ring road that circles the crater. The view is of "The Phantom Ship" along one edge of the crater. The "ship" is about a mile or a bit more from the camera location. Snow lingers in summer from the average yearly snowfall of 44 feet.
