The Chicopee/NEARI Partnership in Professional Development is composed of the Public Schools in Chicopee, MA, and the New England Adolescent Research Institute (NEARI) in Holyoke, MA, a private, non-profit school for severely emotionally disturbed youth and at-risk youth. The purpose of the partnership is to promote and support the advanced professional development of teachers, especially by integrating educational technology into the classroom.

The Chicopee/NEARI Professional Development Model was started in 1998 and is currently supported in part by Project MEET, a federally funded technology challenge grant, through the Masssachusetts Department of Education. Our current focus is on bringing technology related skills and knowledge into the daily routines of students, teachers, at-risk youth, low-income families, and other education stakeholders.
