REBECCA A. GARNER (1833-1908)
DEATH OF MRS.HOWE

Rebecca A. Garner was born at Kokomo, Indiana April 17, 1833, died at Billings, Okla., May 17, 1908. She was married to Ransom B. Howe, March 17, 1850, to which union there was born 9 sons and 3 daughters, one son died in infancy. The other children grew to manhood and womanhood and all are married, one son was murdered by unknown persons, while on a hunting trip in Arizona in 1900. The other ten children survive her as follows: L.A. Howe of Billings, Ok., H.L. Howe of Gage, Ok., J.A. Howe of Porum, Ok., Mrs. Barbara Marr, Westphalia, Ks., Mathias Howe, Spickard and R.F. Howe, Billings, Ok..Mrs. Emma M. Padget, Spickard, Simon K. Howe, Miles, Ks., A.M. Howe Orlando, Ok., and Mrs. Martha A. Wilkerson, Porum, Ok. all of whom accompanied the remains to its last resting place at North Evans church, except Mrs. Wilkerson of Porum, Ok., who was herself sick and unable to attend; several sons-in-law and daughters-in-law and a number of grand children and great grand children also attended and many friends of the family attended the funeral, the sermon being preached by Elder J. Padget, of the Christian church, of which she had been a member since she was about 16 years of age.
The family formerly lived here, removing to Oklahoma a few years ago. They have many friends who extend their sympathy in their affliction.

VINCENT GARNER DEAD
Funeral services for Vincent Garner, one of the well known residents of the northwest past of the county whose death occurred Monday morning, will be held at the Reserve Friends church Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock. Burial will be in the Prairieville cemetery. Rev. Orville Cox will have charge of the service. Mr. Garner, who was 82 years of age, was one of the best known farmers of the northwest part of the county having been one of the early settlers in that community. He was taken ill Friday of last week pneumonia developing and his condition was critical from the start. His parents, Henry and Margaret Garner settled in Tipton county when it was a wilderness. The late Harkless Garner of Prairie Township was a brother and a sisiter, Charlotee is also deceased. Since the death of his wife, May 13, 1921 Mr. Garner has been residing with Russel P. Moore, the tenant on the Garner farm.

Job Garner Obituary

"Called Home"

Mr. Job Garner one of the oldest inhabitants of Iowa as well of one of the oldest settlers in this section of the state, died at the residence of his son, James Garner near Finchford about two weeks ago. The deceased was 85 years of age and was the founder of the new thriving little city of Hampton.

Jacob Garner of Russianville, who was visiting his son in law William H. Locke and family at 224 Vaile Avenue died of paralysis this morning at 2 o'clock at the Locke home. Mr. Garner was about 80 years of age and comes of one of the pioneer families of the county. His remains will be taken to the west end of the county for burial. He was a son of Enoch and Elizabeth Ratcliff Garner.

"Born in Ohio in the year 1813, and when nineteen years of age removed to Indfiana where he remained until 1856. He then went to Missouri and stayed there until the breaking out of the war of the rebellion when he returned to Indiana and stayed till the spring of 1865 when he came to this county. [Richland County, WI] He owned 1,400 acres of land in Missouri, and the battle of Wilson's Creek where the gallant General Lyons fell, was fought on his farm, when the war was over he returned to Missouri and found no houses, buildings or fences on his farm and all the records destroyed."


LOAMMI ASHLEY HOWE (1850-1927)

Loammi Ashley Howe was born in Kokomo, Indiana, October 31, 1850, and departed this life at his home in Billings, Oklahoma, Saturday morning October 1, 1927, at two o'clock at the age of 76 years, and 11 months.

He was united in marriage to Martha Durrant at Spickard, Missouri, April 8, 1877. to this union was born eight children, seven daughters and one son. One daughter died in infancy.

The deceased came to Oklahoma with his family in the year 1898, settling at the old town of White Rock, moving to Billings when it opened for settlement and the greater portion of White Rock was moved here, and they have resided here since.

"Dad," as he was called by everyone was a friend to all. He has been in failing health for the past two years, but had been bedfast for only the past month.

Beside the companion of fifty years, he leaves six daughters; Bertha McClanahan and Myra McDaniel of Billings; Myrtle Ransom of Lamont, Okla, Mable Shaffor of Dodge City, Kansas, Maude Campbell of Berger, Texas, Ora Morris of Shattuck, Okla; one son Arthur Howe of Chanook, Montana; two sisters, Mrs. Barbara Maris of Kincade, Kansas; Mrs. Emmy Padgett of Pattensburg, Missouri; five brothers, R. F. Howe of Enid; Matt of Spickard, Mo.; Art of Orlando, Okla; Simon of Trenton, Mo.; John of Arkansas; and twenty grandchildren and five great grandchildren besides a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Christian church at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon, conducted by the Pastor, Rev. C. C. Taylor, assisted by Rev. J. A. Strouse.

All the children were present to pay the last tribute to the memory of their father except three, Bertha McClanahan, Mable Shaffier and Arthur who were unable to be here.

Interment was made in the Union cemetery. The large assemblage and large floral offerings spoke the high esteem in which the deceased was held in the community, and old friends came from far and near to attend the las sad rites.





MARTIN ISAAC STOUT (1969-2006)

Martin Isaac Stout, 37, of Pfafftown, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Faith Missionary Alliance Church, where he was a member, by Pastors Michael Gates, Carl Miller and Albert Smith. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Stout was born July 4, 1969, in Howard County, Ind., to Isaac and Rebecca West Stout. He was a decorated veteran of six years in the U.S. Army, serving in Desert Storm with many honors. He was employed with B.E. Aerospace Co. for the past 10 years and considered his co-workers as part of his family. He graduated from North Davidson High School in 1987.

Surviving are his wife, Debbie G. Stout of the home; two stepchildren, Wesley and Ashley Hutchins; his parents of Winston-Salem; a sister, Maria Kelly and her husband, David, of Marion, Ind.; three brothers, Matt Stout and his wife, Cherlene, of Winston-Salem, Mike Stout and his wife, Kristina, of Willowick, Ohio, and Mitchell Stout of Greensboro; seven nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Irene Hutchins of Winston-Salem; his father-in-law, Bobby Hutchins and his wife, Barbara, of Winston-Salem; two brothers-in-law, Joseph Bourgeois and his wife, Renee, of Tobaccoville and Robert Hutchins of South Carolina; and two sisters-in-law, Nancy Hutchins of Winston-Salem and Tammy Bullard of Maxton.


The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
