CALIFORNIA

 

CAMP WASIU II:

            Located one hour northwest of Lake Tahoe. Our camp serves girls ages 7-17. Positions related to Swimming, Canoeing, Archery, Art, Backpacking, and Leadership. Openings also include Unit Counselors, Health Care, Administration, and Maintenance staff.

EAGLE LAKE RANGER DISTRICT:

            Looking for a job out-of-doors, with reasonable pay and the opportunity to gain experience and learn valuable skills? The Eagle Lake Ranger District, located just outside of Susanville, California, will be hiring full-time seasonal positions for the Timber Marking Crew. CAMP HORIZONS:

            Camp Horizons, Inc. is a private, non-profit agency providing residential camping programs for children and adults who are mentally handicapped. We are committed to providing quality residential and recreational alternatives that meet the changing needs of the individuals who participate in our programs. Camp Horizons is set on a beautiful wooded site bordering the 55-acre Lake Probus, the camping and resort facilities are fully equipped to accommodate a wide range of activities and programs. Camp Horizons offers all of the experiences you might expect to find in a summer camp… and more! Our camper ratio is 5:1 camper –counselor ratio, plus program instructors and staff. We employ more than 120 people, including assistant directors, administrative assistant, program coordinators, unit leader(s), camp counselors, program instructor’s first aid staff and nurses, kitchen, laundry and maintenance staff. CAMP LAURELWOOD:

            Camp Laurelwood located in Madison, Connecticut, is the residential summer camp sponsored by the Greater New Haven Jewish Community.  Laurelwood offers a complete camping & cultural experience within a beautiful natural setting. The camp sports and activities build campers’ skills and character.  FLAT ROCK RIVER / YMCA CAMP:      Indiana

The Ruth Lily YMCA Outdoor Center, home of the Flat Rock Rive YMCA Summer Camps, is located 45 minutes southeast of Indianapolis along I-74 between Shelbyville and Greensburg. We hire over 50 caring and dedicated American & International staff to work with our campers. Room, board and a salary are provided to all staff members. We have over 240 acres of rolling field and forest, a serene river, an equestrian ranch, a rock climbing area, and staff from all over the world. Staff training begins as early as May 29th, and last day of work is the 2nd week of August. We require a background check, health history, and all staff to hold First Aid & CPR certifications. MAINE

 

CAMP AGASSIZ VILLAGE:

A nonprofit residential summer camp for boys & girls ages 7-12yrs old with a special wilderness-tripping program for teens, ages 13-14. We also offer a Counselor-n-Training program for teens 15-16yrs old. The camp is located in Poland, Maine 40miles north of Portland and about 150miles north of Boston MA. The Village encompasses 600 acres of fields, hills, streams, and woodland with two-mile waterfront on beautiful Thompson Lake. The camps owns two islands; one mile south is our Pioneer Village camping area and one-mile east is a camping area with a view of the Presidential Range of New Hampshire. CAMP ARCADIA:

            Camp Arcadia is located in Casco, a small community within the Sebago Lakes Region of Maine. The camp has beautiful, simple, comfortable cabins nestled amongst the pine trees, every cabin has screened in windows, front porches & views of the lakes. Camp Arcadia is a 45-minute drive from the City of Portland and coastal beaches, and about 2.5-hr drive from Boston, and about 1.5-hr drive from the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Positions vary from Camp Counselors to Waterfront staff to Swim Instructors. Counselors must be 19yrs old, and/or have completed at least 1yr of college; all Waterfront staff must have Red Cross Lifeguard Training (LGT), CPR, and First Aid. Hiking Trip Counselors must be 21yrs old, posses a valid driver’s license and are required to have Wilderness First Aid & CPR. All Swim Instructors are required to have WSI, LGT, CPR, & First Aid. Instruction must be completed before arrival at Camp. Canoe Counselors are required to have WFA (as well as LGT<CPR< and First Aid. Archery, Campcraft and Riding Counselors are required to have CPR, and First Aid ad Junior Counselors are required to have CPR & First Aid. Employment dates are early June through mid-August. Counselor’s accommodations include counselor lounge with Internet access, payphones, and TV/VCR for use while not on duty. Whenever possible, will try to provide transportation for counselor’s days off. Staff pay is based on age, experience, education, responsibilities at Camp and length of time at Camp; room & boards includes accommodations, all meals ( vegetarian option provided), weekly laundry and linen service, electricity, email access and trips taken with Camp Arcadia (Unit outings, hiking trips), and travel allowance.

FRIENDS CAMP:

            Friends Camp is a small, residential summer camp with sixty-five acres of fields and woods, with a waterfront area on the beautiful shores of China Lake. We are located fifteen miles east of Augusta, Maine in the village of South China. Campers choose from elective programs that include sports, sailing, art, drama, music ceramics, photography, and a wide variety of creative and unique activities. LAUREL RESIDENT CAMP – Girl Scouts of Connecticut / Summer Camp:

            Camp Laurel is located on 300 wooded acres surrounding a private lake; Laurel Resident Camp celebrates girls and their achievements, guiding them towards becoming strong women. We off contemporary programs and traditional values, which combine special themes with a general camp program for girls entering grades 2nd through 12th. Activities and program areas include horseback riding, swimming, canoeing, arts & crafts, outdoor cooking, archery, sports and games, nature exploration, hiking and more. Camp Laurel operates camp session from mid-June through the last week of August, camp sessions can be one or two weeks, we have many opportunities for staff in all areas of camp life. THE SUMMER CAMP:

Is a private camp for girls located in Washington Maine, about 20 minutes east of August. The Summer Camp provides girls from low income families and foster homes the opportunity to experience a sleep-away camp. We are looking for general counselors who are warm, compassionate, and caring to live in the bunks with girl’s ages 6-14yrs old. Counselors assist in a variety of activities: arts & Crafts, nature, drama, dance, land sports, swimming, canoeing, reading, writing, canoeing & hiking. Sessions run early June to mid-August.

TRIPP LAKE CAMP:

            Tripp Lake Camp is located in Poland Maine; we are a traditional 7-week residential summer camp for girls ages 8-16yrsold.  Established in 1911, Tripp Lake Camp is accredited by the American Camping Association. Our program offers a wide range of activities, and is situated on 260 acres, with a mile wide of shorefront. We maintain a 1 to 3 counselor to camper ratio staff. The following positions are available: Waterfront; Art & Craft Land Sports; theatre; Outdoor Living and other areas. Each area has specific areas of specialized activities. MASSACHUSETTS

 

ANIMAL FRIENDS SUMMER CAMP:

 A camp sponsored by The Animal Rescue League of Boston. The camp is located in Dedham, MA, is open to both boys & girls of all ages. The program runs from the end of June to mid-August. The activities are horse care, small pet car, farm life, woodworking, drama, ocean ecology, silly sciences, and creative crafts. With outdoor expeditions, group adventures, and nature explorations.

BARTON CENTER:

            The Barton Center for Diabetes Education is the largest, independent camping and educational program in the country dedicated to children who live with diabetes and the people who care for them. The Barton Center is a year-round camp, retreat, and conference center where learning and shared experiences combine to support and motivate children and families. The Barton Center’s main campus is North Oxford , MA, is located on the scenic grounds of the historic Clara Barton Birthplace, and consists of modern facilities with access to over 200 acres of woodlands and fields. We are hiring for our 2006 Day Camp and Resident Staff.  We have positions available in Program/Support Staff; Food & Facility Staff; Adventure Camp; Activity Directors in Waterfront*, Challenge Course*, Outdoor Education*, Art & Crafts*; Sports*, Day Camp & Resident Camp Counselors. CAMBRIDGE ADVENTURE DAY CAMP:

             A multi-cultural, multi-racial, and multi-ethnic in composition and outlook. CADC provides a camping opportunity for about 165 urban children, ages 6-13, per session. The children we serve come from economically deprived backgrounds, and our camping program makes an enormous difference in their lives. We address everything from keeping an active eye on their nutrition to making sure they have a summer of physical social and mental enrichment. Part time positions include: Waterfront Director, assistant swimming instructors, lifeguards, sports director, art director, nature science teacher. Full time positions include: program director, three assistant program directors, environmental adventures director, city trips/urban awareness director, group leaders. CAMP ATWATER:

            Serving youth for 82+ years, Camp Atwater is a residential summer camp for boys & girls, 8-15years old. Atwater is located in North Brookfield, MA, and is owned & operated by the Urban League of Springfield, and is accredited by the American Camping Association, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. You are welcome to come explore the prestigious and oldest African American owned and operated summer residential youth camp in the nation. All Camp Atwater staff are required to participate in a weeklong pre-season orientation. The content of their training will relate to their job responsibilities. CAMP BAUERCREST:

            Camp Bauercrest is an overnight camp for Jewish boys located in Amesbury, Massachusetts, about 40 miles north of Boston on the shores of beautiful Lake Attitash. We are a non-profit camp, run by an independent board of directors. We have created an outdoor community for kids; we surround campers with their peers, add activities to stretch both physical and creative abilities. We have a staff informational page located on our website which provides insight into the employment application process and a downloadable application form. We have a variety of Activity Specialists that are needed in many areas of camp from waterfront to arts & crafts, pottery, drama, fishing, nature, athletics, archery, music, photography, video, and a Web based newspaper, tennis and much more.             We operate two +summer residential camps; Camp Becket for boys and Camp Chimney Corners for girls. CAMP GOOD NEWS:

            Camp Good News, inter-denominationally oriented, is a Christian youth camp. The camp is beautifully located on over two hundred wooded acres on one of Cape Cod’s most beautiful Lake Camp Good News is a holiday with purpose.             YMCA Camp Hi-Rock is located in the Berkshire Mountains where Massachusetts, New York, and Connecticut all meet.             Camp Norwich is a YMCA camp located in the beautiful surrounding of Norwich Lake in Huntington, MA. CLARA BARTON CAMP:

Located Easthampton, MA, is a Summer Nature Day Camp for campers from the Pre K to 6th graders. CAMP TIMBER TRAILS:

Located in the town of Tolland Massachusetts on 1,100 acres of forested woodland. Located on site is one of the largest Girl Scout horse riding programs in the northeast. Most of the staff positions include the responsibility of being a cabin counselor for 6 campers, sharing the same rustic shelter/cabin. The Staff who live in cabins are responsible for the campers in that cabin and sometimes in the unit. It is the cabin counselor’s responsibility to guide her campers through camp activities with help and understanding. The Staff who live in units have different skills and work in different special program areas. Together, unit staffs plan and provide activities for all of the campers in their unit. Camp Treetops is a seven-week, co-ed, residential summer camp for children ages 8-14yrs old. We are located in the high peaks region of the Adirondack Mountains on an organic farm; Treetops provides a healthy, non-competitive environment for approximately 160 children. THE FRESH AIR FUND CAMPS:

            The Fresh Air fund, one of the country’s oldest and most established not-for-profit organizations, provides New York City youngsters with complete free camping programs, with fun away from the hot and noisy street of the city as it priority. Serving boys & girls between the ages of 9 & 15yrs old, the Fund operates five (5) residential camps on Sharpe Reservation in Fishkill, NY, 65-miles north of New York City.
